What little girl has never imagined that she is a fairy, wearing a beautiful dress, with fluorescent wings dancing in the meadow among the flowers? For some women, however, it stayed with them forever. They are drawn to nature and beautiful dresses, even though puberty has long since passed and perhaps even youth is a mere memory. The youthful look, however, remains with many fairies even in late old age, as with the girly style. Fairy style has elements from fantasy style, possibly even witchy, girly, nature or romantic styles. In fact, it could perhaps be classified under fantasy style, but I have it separately. It has its specifics, simply, it’s a style made for fairies at heart!
What are fairies like – and people in fairy style? The first characteristic is a love of nature and art. Fairies not only love nature and often care for it (gardening and caring for animals) and seek work in this sector, but they also feel a kind of unbreakable connection to it and are unhappy if they stay cooped up inside for a long time. Therefore, they usually cannot do without a pet and at least a few plants, which they enjoy especially in winter when everything is under snow.
Otherwise, they tend to be cheerful and playful creatures, they like to joke around, and can be drawn to acting, music, crafts, and similar activities. They tend to be more mischievous than calm, serious ethereals, but they share an interest in spirituality – things between heaven and earth. Like witchy women, they may be interested in magic or druidism.
If you’re interested in fairies (and their style), I can recommend Doreen Virtue’s books, they’ll help you get a more accurate picture about fairy nature.
Some are more romantic, wearing dresses, lace, beautiful jewellery and long hair, but there are also more pixie-like types with short hair, wearing leggings and a tank top. Common are natural motives (leaves, flowers) and also things directly resembling fairies (flower wreaths, jewellery like insect wings). Asymmetry, “raggedness”, pointy ends, in short, a bit of chaos, are common. Things that are too neat and structured are not made for fairies. Clothes should be nice but practical – suitable for running around in the woods.
